CRASH COURSE IN DEATH, Part 1: Summary from Middletown, CT

Crash Course in DeathWe went to a house in Middletown, CT where the residents were experiencing all sorts of phenomena. This is the story of what occurred during our visit, based on our readings, observations and experiences. You can also see the video.

In Middletown, CT, a homeowner reported feelings of heaviness, something scratching the couch, and items disappearing. They also reported that the bathroom door would slam closed on its own, they would hear footsteps upstairs when there was no one there, and items would fall on their own. Her children were afraid to sleep upstairs as they felt like they were being watched. The mother was extremely concerned, and just wanted it to stop happening.

And just what was really happening? We wanted to find out.

We entered the house and Crystal and I immediately felt the heaviness, followed by a queasy feeling in both our stomachs. We started our scan, and entered the bathroom at the top of the stairs. We both felt the presence of something, and attempted to talk to it. We asked for its name.

But it refused to tell us.

Both Crystal and I felt it was male, and it told Crystal that it might answer our questions if it felt like it. We left him there and moved into one of the upstairs bedrooms.

Crystal was able to identify the spirit of a child in the first bedroom. We started talking with him, and discovered that his name was Andy. He had thick glasses, and she could see that he was afraid of something. Andy was very interested in helping us, and wanted to be our assistant. He told us that the basement would be an important stop in our investigation. We continued to talk for a short time, and told him that we would return.

We made our way to the basement, and the bad feeling we had upstairs became worse. A new member of our team, Christine, had identified an area behind the furnace where she felt the presence of something. This happened at the same time as I moved over to the area, as somehow I also knew something was there.

We were about to meet Victor.

Victor was a bad man. I can’t go into why he was there or what we discussed — I would just rather say he wanted to stay in this house. We started talking to him, and his answers were confrontational. He had no desire to leave, and felt no remorse about what he was putting the residents through — and as we found out later, the spirit Andy as well. He stayed behind the furnace, and would wait there for the residents to come down. He would also make his way through the rest of the house, making everyone very uncomfortable, although they did not know why. He told us that he had everything he needed to make him happy, which was extremely unsettling to the residents and to each one of us. We all knew we had to get him out of the house.

But how?

100_0178We had never encountered a spirit like this, and after we finished in the basement, the group went outside to discuss how we should handle it. Scaring a spirit into leaving is such a risky idea — you don’t know how it will respond, and it can put the residents in danger. It could also follow any one of us home. We decided that the only way to get him to move on was to find that one thing that would make him vulnerable — the one thing that he missed — that he could only have if he went into the light.

I did not think we would find it.

The crawlspace

We went to consult with the client and go over our findings, only to discover that there was one more room — a crawlspace in one of the bedrooms. The children in the house reported the feeling that there was something in this space. We went upstairs, and found that the children had blocked the door to this space with a piece of furniture. We moved the furniture out of the way, and Crystal and I crawled inside.

I moved back as far as I could go, and I could feel a sense of safety. I asked Crystal what she was hearing, and she said that this was the place that Andy would come and hide from Victor. After less than a minute I had an overpowering feeling that we had to leave the crawlspace – that something dangerous was coming. Just as we were leaving the space, Christine told us that she felt something was coming too.

Victor.

We left this bedroom and went downstairs. I had had enough of Victor.
